The day has come and gone for Realtors(R) who use old-fashioned sales methods in real estate – putting a sign in the yard, putting the property in the Multiple-Listing Service (MLS), running an occasional newspaper ad, and sitting back waiting for the phone to ring.
Technology has created a generation conditioned to be instantly gratified. This generation wants and expects to maintain control over the process and have access to the information. The resources available online has subsequently minimized the occurrence of walk-ins and calls resulting from advertisements. Traditional real estate companies and traditional Realtors must therefore adapt to these tech-savvy trends.
According to NAR 92% of Internet buyers found their listing on a website and 63% of Internet buyers found their agent through a search engine!
Real estate professionals who don’t make use of the latest technologies might be missing a big opportunity to expand their business. Every new product targeted at real estate represents a chance for brokers and agents to tap into a new market, and improve relations with their existing clients. And for those agents who still aren’t informed about basic Internet and email strategies, now’s the time to learn.
